Hello, my name is CONNIE WYGERA and I am running for re-election to the Tewksbury Township Board of Education.

I am currently a member of the Tewksbury Board of Education and have been for three years. I hold a Masters Degree in Education from Rutgers University certified to teach Social Studies to grades K-12, and an undergraduate degree in Political Science from Rutgers University. My family and I have resided in Tewksbury Township for almost 30 years and my son attended Sawmill and OTS schools.

While my son attended Tewksbury Township schools, I was active in district events including chaperoning field trips, serving as homeroom “Mom” participating in the PTA, attending BOE meetings, serving as a Cub Scout leader, and coaching soccer. I still believe my greatest insights come from the many years I substituted and taught at OTS, ESC and Voorhees High School. These work experiences plus the past three years sitting on the Tewksbury Township BOE, have given me a unique singular perspective into how the BOE works with our school district and therefore, our community.

I have always believed a strong partnership between teachers, students and parents is critical for a successful school district. My commitment and passion to our community has been to the education and welfare of our students.

Collaboration and teamwork are the hallmarks of a successful BOE.

During my service as a board member, I have attended every BOE meeting and retreat which has enabled me to be informed on every policy and district decision.
